General Aviation Terminal
CAPE FEAR REGIONAL JETPORT (SUT), OAK ISLAND, NC
Project Description
The coastal design of this airport is influenced by its unique location – situated in Historic Southport where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Exterior materials such as corrugated metal roofing, stained fiber cement shingles, concrete columns and tabby concrete sidewalks were chosen to reflect the beach vibe of the area. In contrast to its laid-back look, the facility provides state-of-the-art requirements meeting the needs of a modern GA Terminal. Interior amenities include a large centrally-located waiting area, vending & break areas, large conference areas, pilot’s lounge and counter area & offices for staff. A future second floor will provide additional office, conference & storage space.
